TIRE CLEAN UP DAY
The Vinton County Health Department will be hosting a Tire Clean Up Day made possible by the OEPA Mosquito Control Grant.
IMPORTANT: This will ONLY be for tire collection. NO TRASH or SOLID WASTE. Residential Tires Only.
Accepting tires ON and off the rim.
When: Saturday, April 25th
Where: Next to the Vinton County Fairgrounds (see map below)
Time: 9AM - 12PM
This year VCHD is welcoming anyone 18+ years old who are interested in volunteering for this event. To fill out a waiver form please contact our Environmental Health Division.

BE TICK SMART CLASS!
Free Tick prevention class April 28, 2026
Be Tick Smart! Protect yourself and your animals.
As a growing public health and farm concern, it is important now more then ever to learn about tick prevention. This evening class will feature Dr. Timothy McDermott, DVM from OSU Extension - Franklin County. It will cover tick identification, disease risk, prevention recommendations, and will provide more information on getting ticks tested. If you spend time outdoors or have livestock, pets, or children, please consider attending this class.
