Fall Clean Up Day

A clean-up day will be sponsored by the Vinton County Health Department & The Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, Vinton Solid Waste Management District on October 19, 2019 next to the Vinton County Fair Grounds from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Appliances, scrap metal, newspapers, corrugated cardboard, food & beverage cans, glass bottles & jars will be accepted without charge. No building material; No paint; No pressurized tanks unless they are cut in half. All appliances must be free of freon.

We received a Mosquito Control grant through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.  This grant allows us to accept tires at no fee for our 2019 FALL CLEANUP DAY. Please make sure all tires are free of debris. Please be advised that individuals are only legally allowed to transport ten or fewer tires at a time, but there is no limit as to how many can be brought.  No tires can be accepted from business facilities.  For additional information contact the Vinton County Health Department at 740-596-0473 or 800-596-5233 or visit our website @ www.vintonohhealth.org.

Fall Rabies Clinic

The Vinton County Health Department in collaboration with the Vinton County Commissioners is happy to announce that the 2019 Rabies Immunization Clinics will once again offer low cost rabies vaccinations for healthy dogs and cats residing in Vinton County.  These clinics will be held at the following locations between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. with Genevieve Davis, DVM, administering the immunizations.

The cost of the rabies vaccine will be $5.00.  Cats and dogs need to be at least 3 months of age.  Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a covered basket or box. Dogs must have a 2019 license. We are unable to offer the 2019 license for sale at this clinic. However, you may purchase dog tags prior to the clinic by contacting the Vinton County dog warden or the Vinton County Courthouse.

 Vaccinations for all cats and dogs will be valid for 1 or 3 years dependent upon Dr. Davis determination.

 THE VINTON COUNTY RABIES CLINIC IS FOR VINTON COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY.  Proof of residence may be requested.

Trunk or Treat

Vinton County Health Department, Vinton County Help Me Grow and WIC will be hosting the 4th annual TRUNK OR TREAT!! We would like to invite everyone to participate by setting up a table (with games/treats, brochures/information) about your organization. What a great way to let families know about your business/cause!! Last year we had 800 people in attendance, so bring plenty of candy!!
